Artist’s Reflection

While creating “Sovereign of the Night,” I kept thinking about what it means to command your space — not through dominance, but through presence. The fox, to me, is that perfect embodiment of calm authority: observant, graceful, and absolutely sure of his place in the world.

This piece became a meditation on self-trust — the kind that doesn’t need validation or applause. The fox doesn’t strive to be seen; he simply is, and that’s where his power lies.

I painted him surrounded by fireflies and stars because I wanted to capture that balance between stillness and vitality — the quiet pulse of life that runs through the night. To me, he’s not just watching; he’s belonging.

And that’s what sovereignty is — not control, but communion with one’s truth.
